So, my clamp will be manufactured locally, I understand that “Made in the USA” products mean allot to people but I think Locally is where we need to focus our efforts to insure the success of our local quality of life.

Just like buying Local Vegetables we should try and manufacture local.

Here are some pictures on the prototype:

The Features:

• Cooks 4 chickens at once from the inside out giving you moist, tender, roasted, golden crispy chicken
• Nonstick due to the seasoning of the raw metal
• Square center post that are open at the bottom to let the steam come up from the V shaped troth to add savory and subtle flavors

The Build List:

• 2 x 1′ x 2″  Angle Iron
• 2 x 1′ x 1″ Angle Iron
• 4 x 8″ x 1″ square Steel Tubing

Tools Required:

• Measuring tape
• chalk for marking steel
• T Square or Metal Angle
• Reciprocating (sawzall) saw with metal blade
• Mig or Tig Welder
• C Clamps
• Welding Magnets
• All the appropriate Safety gear
• A fire Pit and cooking oil to cure the raw steel

I shopped at lowes because I was already going, but these parts are available at most hardware stores

Parts List for Torch Top:

• 1 x 3 inch piece of 1/2 inch Copper Pipe.
• 1 x 1/2″ X 3/8″ Copper Coupling (item# 22623) Price: $1.48
• 1 x Steel Washer with an inside diameter of 1/2″ $0.23
• 1 x 1/2 inch Copper Cap (item # 21728) Price: $0.67
• 1 x 13 inch Tiki Replacement Wick Comes in a 2 pack Price: $2.46

Parts list for Torch Hanger:

• 1 x Wine Bottle or other type of bottle
• 1 x 6 inch 3/8 threaded rod, the shortest I found was 12 inches (item # 44597 ) Price: $1.37
• 1 x 3/8 inch Ceiling Flange, I didn’t see the Copper so I went with the Galvanized version (item # 301689) Price: $1.42
• 1 x 1 inch Copper Split Ring Hanger (item # 301353) Price: $1.67

Flame is 6 inches away from fence

*TIP* Save tiki fuel by filling bottom of the bottle with water, then add the oil which will float to the top. The water level should stay below the length of wick, if wick touches water it will not be usable. I used Green Food Coloring because its my wifes favorite Color.
